Bobby Lashley's Strikeforce return has been delayed once again.
After being rumored for the April CBS card before undergoing a minor surgical procedure, Lashley was rescheduled for next month's Strikeforce: Los Angeles event in a bout against 5-0 Ron Sparks, but Lashley has now come up with an injury and has been forced from the card.
According to a report from MMAMania.com, Lashley injured his knee in training, forcing him to pull out of the fight.
Lashley appeared once in the organization, defeating Wes Sims in January by TKO in the first round to move his MMA career record to 5-0.
Penick's Analysis: Well, this is a blow for the event for Strikeforce. While the fight with Sparks itself wasn't necessarily all that exciting, it was Lashley's name and intrigue on if he can continue to show signs of progress that was going to help sell the event. With him no longer a part of the show, the card takes a definite hit. It's still got Robbie Lawler, Renato "Babalu" Sobral and Tim Kennedy, who has been a solid staple on Showtime events for Strikeforce, but having Lashley would have really helped to sell the card.
