11/15 AFTERNOON UPDATE
If you're tuning in to the App for the first time in a while, make sure to check out the big update on the App's home page for notes and information on the changes made to the new mobile site at MMATorch.com in your mobile browser. Our tech team has been working on even more tweaks based on your feedback, and have optimized the site for Safari and the default Android browser. They're continuing to work on the same for both Chrome and Opera as well. Keep sending your thoughts in to mmatorch@gmail.com so we can make the mobile site the best experience for you! We truly appreciate the feedback, and we're making changes as necessary. Here's what's on the site today:
-I broke down the top fights from each of the three events tonight for a weekend preview. Excerpt on Lamas-Bermudez: “This is one of the best fights scheduled all weekend. Bermudez has been excellent through a seven fight winning streak in the division, but even though he's defeated some solid competitors, this represents a significant step up in competition. Lamas is just a fight removed from a title bout of his own with Jose Aldo, he's got a submission win over fellow top contender Cub Swanson, and he's been mostly dominant in the UFC. This is a chance for Bermudez to take that next step towards being a title contender, but I don't see Lamas as an easy out here.” Head to our mobile site at MMATorch.com in your phone or tablet browser for the full preview.
-Bellator's first three events of 2015 have dates, locations, and main events, and four title fights will hit those cards. First up is Pitbull Freire vs. Daniel Straus at Bellator 132, then Douglas Lima vs. Paul Daley and Emanuel Newton vs. Liam McGeary at Bellator 133, and finally Joe Warren vs. Marcos Galvao at Bellator 134. More on the events and other fights announced on the mobile site now.
-Scott Coker says tonight's Bellator 131 event is going to be the biggest thus far under his regime, and will have more of his signature on it than any fans have seen yet. See his comments on that, and the future of Bellator into 2015, on the mobile site.
-Dennis Bermudez thinks a win over Ricardo Lamas tonight at UFC 180 should bring him a title fight. Catch his comments with further analysis on the mobile site.
We thank all of our readers for their feedback and patience as we continue making improvements on the new mobile site. We're an independent voice in the MMA space with no corporate backing, and as such we stay afloat on ad revenue. This shift to the full listing on mobile web brings us a better chance to keep ourselves going and to bring our readers everything we have for the last five years and more, as the mobile advertising market is simply stronger than that on the app. Continue sending us your feedback to mmatorch@gmail.com and let us know how the new features with the Disqus comments section and more are working for you on mobile web!
DON'T GO YET... WE SUGGEST THESE MMATORCH ARTICLES, TOO!
