11/6 NIGHTTIME UPDATE
If you're tuning in to the App for the first time in a while, make sure to check out the big update on the App's home page for notes and information on the changes made to the new mobile site at MMATorch.com in your mobile browser. Our tech team has been working on even more tweaks based on your feedback, and have optimized the site for Safari and the default Android browser. They're continuing to work on the same for both Chrome and Opera as well. Keep sending your thoughts in to mmatorch@gmail.com so we can make the mobile site the best experience for you! We truly appreciate the feedback, and we're making changes as necessary. Here's what's on the site tonight:
-The civil protection order levied against Anthony “Rumble” Johnson has been dropped, and with the case behind him, the UFC has decided to reinstate him, and plan to find him a new fight in short order. Get more on the reinstatement, including the UFC's statement on the matter, by heading to our mobile site at MMATorch.com in your phone or tablet browser.
-UFC Fight Night 55 hits Australia on UFC Fight Pass tomorrow, and my preview for the event is now live with a main card breakdown and fight picks for the event. Head to the mobile site for the full preview.
-In a new roundtable today, the crew pondered whether or not Michael Bisping will pull off the upset over Luke Rockhold. Excerpt from Rich Hansen: “I think I kind of touched on this yesterday when I wrote, 'Other than maybe, maybe takedown defense, there's not one thing Bisping does in the cage better than Rockhold. He's also shorter, smaller, weaker, slower, and older. Other than that, yeah, this fight needed to be made.' Rockhold by unanimous decision.”
-Fans in the UK will be able to see Bellator 131 next weekend, but it won't be live. Instead, it will hit channel 5* on Sunday, Nov. 16 at 9PM local time. More on that on the mobile site.
-A welterweight bout between Matt Brown and Tarec Saffiedine is reportedly headed to the UFC's expected January event in Sweden. Get more on that potential matchup on the mobile site now.
We thank all of our readers for their feedback and patience as we continue making improvements on the new mobile site. We're an independent voice in the MMA space with no corporate backing, and as such we stay afloat on ad revenue. This shift to the full listing on mobile web brings us a better chance to keep ourselves going and to bring our readers everything we have for the last five years and more, as the mobile advertising market is simply stronger than that on the app. Continue sending us your feedback to mmatorch@gmail.com and let us know how the new features with the Disqus comments section and more are working for you on mobile web!
DON'T GO YET... WE SUGGEST THESE MMATORCH ARTICLES, TOO!
