...OH, ONE MORE THING - PLEASE BOOKMARK US & VISIT DAILY!
9/1 MORNING UPDATE
If you're tuning in to the App for the first time in a while, make sure to check out the big update on the App's home page for notes and information on the changes made to the new mobile site at MMATorch.com in your mobile browser. Our tech team has been working on even more tweaks based on your feedback, and have optimized the site for Safari and the default Android browser. They're continuing to work on the same for both Chrome and Opera as well. Keep sending your thoughts in to mmatorch@gmail.com so we can make the mobile site the best experience for you! We truly appreciate the feedback, and we're making changes as necessary. Here's what's on the site this morning:
-September rankings are now live, with our top 15 in each division in the UFC (with the exception of the just introduced women's strawweight division and just the top ten for women's bantamweight). Head to our mobile site at MMATorch.com in your phone or tablet browser for the full list as of Sept. 1.
-Thales Leites picked up a huge win in his last fight when he knocked out Francis Carmont, and with the UFC seemingly going ahead with Luke Rockhold vs. Lyoto Machida, he'd like to step in against Michael Bisping. See his comments on that potential fight, along with the improvements he's made in his game, on the mobile site now.
-UFC Light Heavyweight Champion Jon Jones has now officially held the title for the longest period of time of any fighter at 205 lbs. He surpassed Tito Ortiz's 1,260 days as Champion over the weekend, and the clock will continue to run. More on that record and where Jones stands amongst some other lengthy title reigns on the mobile site.
-After Olympic gold medalist Henry Cejudo missed weight for UFC 177, he also lost out on a payday the same as Renan Barao. Additionally, while Dana White says he'll remain on the UFC's roster for at least one more attempt at a debut, he'll need to fight at middleweight in order to get that shot. Head to the mobile site for more on his situation with further analysis.
-In our new morning poll, we asked readers who T.J. Dillashaw's next title defense should come against after UFC 177. 65% think it should be former Champ Dominick Cruz if Cruz defeats Takeya Mizugaki last month, with Raphael Assuncao getting the next highest vote total with 27% of responses.
We thank all of our readers for their feedback and patience as we continue making improvements on the new mobile site. We're an independent voice in the MMA space with no corporate backing, and as such we stay afloat on ad revenue. This shift to the full listing on mobile web brings us a better chance to keep ourselves going and to bring our readers everything we have for the last five years and more, as the mobile advertising market is simply stronger than that on the app. Continue sending us your feedback to mmatorch@gmail.com and let us know how the new features with the Disqus comments section and more are working for you on mobile web!
DON'T GO YET... WE SUGGEST THESE MMATORCH ARTICLES, TOO!
