...OH, ONE MORE THING - PLEASE BOOKMARK US & VISIT DAILY!
MONDAY 7/28 AFTERNOON UPDATE
If you're tuning in to the App for the first time in a while, make sure to check out the big update on the App's home page for notes and information on the changes made to the new mobile site at MMATorch.com in your mobile browser. Our tech team has been working on even more tweaks based on your feedback, and have optimized the site for Safari and the default Android browser. They're continuing to work on the same for both Chrome and Opera as well. Keep sending your thoughts in to mmatorch@gmail.com so we can make the mobile site the best experience for you! We truly appreciate the feedback, and we're making changes as necessary. Here's what's on the site this afternoon:
-The UFC appears to be moving forward with plans for a blanket uniform, as they're in active conversations with a “premium apparel line” on that front. If and when something comes together, it appears likely that Ronda Rousey is going to be the face of that new line whenever it gets announced. More information on that news with further commentary in the main listing of our mobile site at MMATorch.com in your phone or tablet browser.
-Dan Hardy has been kept out of competition the last two years due to a medical condition and conflicting opinions about how to treat it. Some doctors have pushed him to get surgery, which he doesn't want to do without real symptoms presenting themselves, and so he's waiting for clearance from doctors who aren't trying to sell him on a certain procedure. If he gets cleared to return, he wants to fight Diego Sanchez after Sanchez's robbery over Ross Pearson earlier this year. Catch Hardy's comments with further analysis on the mobile site now.
-Urijah Faber's next bout is set, and it is indeed coming in Japan. However, it won't be against Norifumi “Kid” Yamamoto. Yamamoto suffered an injury in training, and Faber will now fight Masanori Kanehara. More on both fighters on the mobile site now.
-Speaking of Asian UFC events, the Macau event next month has been finalized with ten fights. The event will air live in the U.S. on UFC Fight Pass beginning at 6:30AM ET on August 23.
We thank all of our readers for their feedback and patience as we continue making improvements on the new mobile site. We're an independent voice in the MMA space with no corporate backing, and as such we stay afloat on ad revenue. This shift to the full listing on mobile web brings us a better chance to keep ourselves going and to bring our readers everything we have for the last five years and more, as the mobile advertising market is simply stronger than that on the app. Continue sending us your feedback to mmatorch@gmail.com and let us know how the new features with the Disqus comments section and more are working for you on mobile web!
DON'T GO YET... WE SUGGEST THESE MMATORCH ARTICLES, TOO!
