...OH, ONE MORE THING - PLEASE BOOKMARK US & VISIT DAILY!
WEDNESDAY 5/21 MORNING UPDATE
If you're tuning in to the App for the first time in a while, make sure to check out the big update on the App's home page for notes and information on the changes made to the new mobile site at MMATorch.com in your mobile browser. Our tech team has been working on even more tweaks based on your feedback, and have optimized the site for Safari and the default Android browser. They're continuing to work on the same for both Chrome and Opera as well. Keep sending your thoughts in to mmatorch@gmail.com so we can make the mobile site the best experience for you! We truly appreciate the feedback, and we're making changes as necessary. Here's what hit the site this morning:
-Frank Hyden's weekly piece hit the site this morning, as he broke down the Good, Bad, and Ugly out of last weekend's Bellator 120 event. One of the biggest issues Frank had was with the timing on the card, which was absolutely god-awful. It was kind of par for the course for Bellator, but exposed further on pay-per-view. Excerpt: “It was ridiculous to see Bellator wasting time with empty cage shots and extended interviews that were out of place. You can't have this on a pay-per-view, where you're asking people to pay money for the show. This is just so horribly bad in so many ways. It makes Bellator look low-rent, like they have no idea how to time a show properly.” Get the full rundown in the main listing at MMATorch.com in your phone or tablet browser.
-Daniel Cormier said this week that he'd have rather not fought Dan Henderson at UFC 173 because of the level of respect and admiration he has for his fellow former wrestler. However, he thinks the fight will ultimately bring the best out of him on Saturday night in Las Vegas. Get more of his thoughts with commentary on the situation in the main listing now.
-Alex “Bruce Leroy” Caceres made a gutsy call in requesting a fight with Urijah Faber this summer, as the UFC is obliging him with that booking at UFC 175. However, as Caceres says, it's exactly the type of fights he should want, because if he's “any type of fighter,” he should want to fight the best. I give him a ton of credit for the move, though I don't know that I see it working out for him. Catch more of Caceres' comments with further analysis in the main listing.
We thank all of our readers for their feedback and patience as we continue making improvements on the new mobile site. We're an independent voice in the MMA space with no corporate backing, and as such we stay afloat on ad revenue. This shift to the full listing on mobile web brings us a better chance to keep ourselves going and to bring our readers everything we have for the last five years and more, as the mobile advertising market is simply stronger than that on the app. Continue sending us your feedback to mmatorch@gmail.com and let us know how the new features with the Disqus comments section and more are working for you on mobile web!
DON'T GO YET... WE SUGGEST THESE MMATORCH ARTICLES, TOO!
