FRIDAY 5/9 NIGHTTIME UPDATE
If you're tuning in to the App for the first time in a while, make sure to check out the big update on the App's home page for notes and information on the changes made to the new mobile site at MMATorch.com in your mobile browser. Our tech team has been working on even more tweaks based on your feedback, and have optimized the site for Safari and the default Android browser. They're continuing to work on the same for both Chrome and Opera as well. Keep sending your thoughts in to mmatorch@gmail.com so we can make the mobile site the best experience for you! We truly appreciate the feedback, and we're making changes as necessary. Here's a rundown of the news that hit the main listing this morning:
-My UFC Fight Night 40 preview hit the main listing tonight, with my quick thoughts on the main card fights, along with my picks on the entire card. Excerpt: “While Erick Silva hits really hard, I honestly think he's in a lot of trouble if he gets into a toe to toe firefight with Brown. While Brown isn't the most technical striker, he has a knack for finding his target, and he's damn near impossible to knock out. However, the glaring weakness in his game has been submission defense, and if Silva can work him to the ground - which in itself is not a guarantee anymore with Brown working on his takedown defense - he has a serious edge there. Unfortunately for the young Brazilian, he seems far too eager to get into those firefights, and I think it costs him here tomorrow. Brown via TKO in the first round.

-Rich Hansen's Bellator 119 report is up on the main listing now, with a round by round rundown of what may have been Bellator's worst televised event to date. Read up in the entertaining report to see why at MMATorch.com in your phone or tablet browser.
-We got pay-per-view buy estimates this week for UFC 172, as it was reported that the show – headlined by the Jon Jones-Glover Teixeira bout - drew 350,000 buys. That's right in line with Ronda Rousey's last fight, the UFC's first four events of 2014 are well below pace from the first four of 2014, and the UFC's best pay-per-view of the year is well below the third best boxing pay-per-view, removing the Floyd Mayweather and Manny Pacquiao outliers. More on that with analysis in the main listing.
We thank all of our readers for their feedback and patience as we continue making improvements on the new mobile site. We're an independent voice in the MMA space with no corporate backing, and as such we stay afloat on ad revenue. This shift to the full listing on mobile web brings us a better chance to keep ourselves going and to bring our readers everything we have for the last five years and more, as the mobile advertising market is simply stronger than that on the app. Continue sending us your feedback to mmatorch@gmail.com and let us know how the new features with the Disqus comments section and more are working for you on mobile web!
DON'T GO YET... WE SUGGEST THESE MMATORCH ARTICLES, TOO!
