FRIDAY 5/9 MORNING UPDATE

-The UFC has booked their second fight for their next Fox event, which comes to San Jose on July 26. In lightweight action the current #3 ranked 155 lb. fighter Josh Thomson will take on the new #10 (by way of Nate Diaz and T.J. Grant's removal) in Michael Johnson. -Miesha Tate is nearing the end of her fight contract with the UFC, and is looking for a raise in her next contract. She believes her stock has gone up in the UFC, and hopes to get a raise with her next contract. She also commented on the possibility of a rematch with Sarah Kaufman, so head to the main listing now to see her quotes with commentary.
-Our UK Contributor, Tom Strong, brought us a story out of the Cage Warriors promotion today. After seven fighters missed weight for last week's CWFC 68 event in Liverpool, the organization is taking the drastic step to fine fighters 60% of their fight purse moving forward if they miss weight. 40% will go to their opponents, with the other 20% getting donated to charity. -Our morning poll today is seeking predictions for tomorrow's UFC Fight Night 40 main event between Matt Brown and Erick Silva. 82% of the total vote is coming in for a TKO finish, with 57% of the total vote taking Brown to finish the fight.
