Who wins the Frank Mir-Bigfoot Silva main event at UFC Fight Night 61, and how?

DAN MOORE, MMATORCH UK COLUMNIST

This Brazil card looks good from top to bottom but this main event fight doesn't really interest me at all. If this fight goes beyond five minutes it could get really ugly. I find it hard to see how Frank Mir's going to win this fight, even if it does go to the ground. Silva has the clear advantage in the striking department and in the clinch game. He's also very adept at staying out of trouble even if Mir does manage to take him down. If this fight becomes loss number five in a row for Mir, it surely has to be time for him to give up ghost. Silva will win this one by TKO in round one.

FRANK HYDEN, MMATORCH CONTRIBUTOR

I'll pick Bigfoot Silva, but that's more by default. I really don't care that much about this fight because neither guy is likely to sniff a title shot again anytime soon. They also have a tendency to come up small in the big moments. I'd like to pick Silva to win by TKO, though, because Mir doesn't have much of a chin. Silva's chin isn't great either, but it's better than Mir's, and Silva is a better striker. However, both guys are desperate for a win so this is likely to be a dull affair. I don't know how Mir still has a job after losing four in a row, but if he loses here he has to go. Silva has two losses and a draw in his last three fights. I don't care how shallow the heavyweight division is, you can't keep having these guys around when they lose like this. And they sure as hell shouldn't be main-eventing anything. I understand injuries forced the shift, though, so I can't say too much about it.

BRAD WALKER, MMATORCH CONTRIBUTOR

If Frank Mir wins this fight I will crawl into a ball and cry myself to sleep. I really want Frank to retire before he suffers some sort of permanent damage. Bigfoot is going to go Brock Lesnar on Mir and hammer him out on the ground, and I can't wait to witness it. It'll be fun either way but if Mir wins I would be legitimately shocked.

KALE HAVERVOLD, MMATORCH CONTRIBUTOR

I think Bigfoot Silva will win. I think he's had better recent results than Mir has, though both men are without a doubt at the tail end of their careers. I think Bigfoot will either get the TKO or a one sided decision.

TOM STRONG, MMATORCH UK CONTRIBUTOR

Not only am I struggling to get excited about this fight, I'm struggling to find anything positive about this card. Neither fighter are in their prime or going to make a run at the title at this stage in their career, though it might entertain someone while it lasts.

Mir has lost his previous four fights, and Antonio Silva has two losses and 1NC in his last three fights. That latest defeat came via first round KO at the hands of Andrei Arlovski. I'm sure this might be entertaining for some, though once Silva lands a punch the fight will be over and Frank Mir will set off into the sunset.

I'll flip the 'who cares' coin

Prediction: Antonio Silva via first round KO

RICH HANSEN, MMATORCH COLUMNIST

Mir rolls in a fight about which I couldn't possibly care less. Wow. I'm negative this week.
