Nick Diaz wants Anderson Silva or a rematch with GSP to keep fighting. Will he get either fight, will he retire, or will he give in and take another matchup from the UFC?
DAN MOORE, MMATORCH UK CONTRIBUTOR
Nothing is impossible but I'd be inclined to go on a UFC boycott if Diaz was to get another title shot against GSP. He did absolutely nothing inside the Octagon to suggest he deserves it. Yes he unintentionally sold their fight very well and he's extremely entertaining to listen to; but when it mattered, he did nothing.
Again, even if almost every middleweight contender (bar Chris Weidman) has now effectively eliminated himself, it would still be extremely unfair if Diaz were given a fight against the greatest Mixed Martial Artist off all time; especially considering he is now riding a two fight losing streak (even Chael Sonnen isn't that undeserving!).
If Diaz wants to retire, let him. If he wants to reconsider then that's cool with me too. What I can't abide is seeing someone hold the organization to ransom with the threat of retirement, just to get a fight he doesn't deserve. Let him retire and see if he is good to his word. His performances of late don't really leave him in a good bargaining position and I'm sure it's just more idle threats that won't come to fruition.

He's not retiring, that's for sure. At this point, Diaz is MMA's Brett Favre, or any number of boxers over the years. I think Diaz takes a different fight, one against Carlos Condit. Diaz will want to avenge that loss, Condit needs a big-name opponent, there we go. That's the fight the UFC should make.

There is no way that Nick Diaz will get a fight with Anderson Silva and a rematch with GSP for that matter. Diaz has been contemplating retirement as of late, but the best thing for him to do is to fight Carlos Condit this summer as that is the quickest way for him to getting back into title contention.
ERIC HOBAUGH, MMATORCH CONTRIBUTOR
No Way! Not only did he look horrible in the fight, he missed more press obligations for UFC 158. Diaz also cheap shotted GSP after the bell. He is being exposed for the punk he really is. It is amazing how the UFC can cut fighters like John Fitch and keep fighters like Diaz. His next fight will be against Condit or Ellenberger.

The problem with Nick Diaz is a sense of entitlement that's completely irrelevant. Diaz was a great champion in Strikeforce, but he's that snotty little brat once he starts talking. I love to watch him fight, but hearing him talk makes me want to slap him. Why in the blue hell is he entitled to a rematch with GSP? He lost all five rounds universally, and he's now coming off of two consecutive losses. Diaz is barely even in the top 10 right now. And Anderson Silva? I'd actually rather see that than GSP-Diaz 2, but who the hell died and made Diaz a matchmaker? I know he's an avid pothead but that hydro he's smoking is making him say things that are so stupid they begin to look like Fabricio Werdum's tactical approach to his last fight with Alistair Overeem. He's not entitled to anything, the highest fighter on the line I would let him fight is Condit, and even that is a stretch right now.
