Is the prospect of Anderson Silva fighting enough for you to buy a pay-per-view, or does he need to have an exciting or intriguing opponent for the interest to be there?
DAN MOORE, MMATORCH UK CONTRIBUTOR
Fortunately for me, we don't have to pay for individual PPV events here in the UK. However if that ever changes I'll happily part ways with my hard earned money to watch Anderson Silva fight, irrespective of his opponent. Most fans expect Floyd Mayweather and Manny Pacquaio to win, whoever they fight, yet thousands still pay big bucks to watch them. Anderson Silva is also in that very elite group of superstars who you just can't say no to. If you do, you might just miss out on seeing something truly spectacular.

I will buy any pay per view in which Silva fights, especially when you know 100% without a doubt that he is going to murder and bludgeon and torture the man who he is fighting, oh and I don't really like Bonnar at that, so it doubles the fun for me. The card is essentially garbage, with so many fighters ducking Glover Teixeira that we wound up with Fabio "nobody cares" Maldonado as his opponent and the stirring and intriguing (not) matchup of Big Nog and Herman. It will do good numbers but the quality of fights is a huge upper case bold underlined F.
FRANK HYDEN, MMATORCH CONTRIBUTOR
I don't think it's enough to just have Silva fighting for a lot of people because he's so far above everyone else, he's raised the bar so high. However, I do think that he has an exciting and intriguing opponent in Stephan Bonnar. We all know that Bonnar will press the action. We're almost guaranteed an exciting highlight-reel finish or a historic upset, and perhaps both. I do think that the UFC should have tried to put together an even better card than they did, though, to combat the bigtime mismatch here.

Anderson Silva is 37 years old. He will not be fighting more than a couple of years from now. He is the greatest fighter of all time and he appears to have enough money to hold him over forever. He will only fight a few more times and every time he does it is a huge opportunity. I think he only has a few fights left in him. After he destroys Stephan Bonner he will have only a few super fights left in him. After he beats Bonner he will fight GSP. If he can win that he will rally for a super fight with Jon Jones and that will be it. I would rather watch an Anderson Silva fight than any other fighter on the planet. It does not matter who he faces. If Anderson Silva is fighting I will be watching.
RICH HANSEN, MMATORCH COLUMNIST
Uh, yeah. The best fighter in the history of the sport is fighting. Cha-ching, bitches.
JASON AMADI, MMATORCH COLUMNIST
Anderson Silva is arguably the greatest fighter of all time and with a decent card underneath him, I'd absolutely buy an event to see him perform. I don't know that the average North American pay-per-view consumer would do the same, but those in the know understand that "The Spider" realistically, can only perform at this level for a few more years.
