An exciting featherweight rematch between Mackens Semerzier and Robert Peralta will no longer happen at UFC on FX 2 in Australia, as MMAJunkie.com reports that Peralta has suffered an injury in training that has taken him out of the bout.
The two fought on the undercard of the first UFC on Fox show back in November, with Peralta stopping Semerzier in the third round. However, the stoppage came directly after an illegal (and accidental) headbutt sent Semerzier crashing to the mat. The bout was subsequently overturned to a "no contest" upon appeal.
They were then set up to fight on the March 3 event in Australia - which airs in the U.S. on Friday, March 2 - but Peralta's manager says he's suffered broken toes in training that have removed him from the event. The UFC hasn't yet officially announced Peralta's removal, but a replacement is likely being sought for Semerzier on the card.
