Four fighters earned $45,000 extra for their efforts at UFC on FX 1 in Nashville, Tenn. on Friday night, with Pat Barry, Christian Morecraft, Jim Miller, and Nick Denis taking home "Fight Night" bonuses for the event.
Barry and Morecraft took the "Fight of the Night" for their crazy three minute bout. Morecraft earned the mount twice on the ground, and nearly locked on a couple of submissions, but Barry battled back and connected on a huge counter-left to send Morecraft to the ground. He finished Morecraft on the ground with a flurry of punches that put him out cold.
Main eventer Miller took the "Submission of the Night" for his first round rear naked choke of Melvin Guillard. He took some damage early on, but bounced back when he took Guillard down. He took his back, locked on the choke, and forced the tap.
Denis took the "Knockout of the Night" in the first fight on the card. Debuting against Joseph Sandoval, the Canadian bantamweight unleashed a flurry of short elbows in the center of the cage that dropped Sandoval to the mat, and ended the fight in just 22 seconds.
