Fabricio Camoes made a successful return to the UFC on Friday night, submitting newcomer Tommy Hayden at UFC on FX 1 in Nashville, Tenn.
Hayden had a decent showing on the feet in the fight, but when the fight went to the ground it was all Camoes. Hayden at one point escaped a grappling exchange, but then Camoes swept him, then took his back and wrenched him backward in violent fashion.
Camoes locked on a rear naked choke and appeared to have a submission when Hayden appeared to tap. The fight didn't stop immediately, and Hayden had to tap a little more convincingly to bring an end to the bout.
The win was Camoes' first in the UFC, as he went to a draw and lost in his first two appearances in the organization in 2009 and 2010. He's now won three straight. Hayden suffered the first loss of his career, ending an eight fight winning streak.
