Daniel Pineda made himself the second straight newcomer on the UFC on FX 1 preliminary card to make an impression on Friday night, choking out Minnesota's Pat Schilling in just over a minute and a half to pick up his first win in the Octagon.
Pineda scored an early takedown on Schilling and immediately transitioned to mount. Schilling gave up his back, and got to his feet with Pineda on his back. He was dragged right back down, however, with Pineda securing a rear naked choke and forcing him to tap as the fight hit the ground again.
The win was the sixth straight for Pineda, all of which have ended by knockout or submission. For Schilling, it was his first officially recorded loss.
