Following a loss to Chael Sonnen in October, middleweight Brian Stann will reportedly take on Alessio Sakara in his next bout. According to a report from Swedish site MMANytt.se, the two fighters have verbally agreed to meet on the main card of the UFC's second Fuel TV event, coming April 14 to Stockholm, Sweden.
Stann was on a roll into the bout with Sonnen at UFC 136, earning three straight stoppage wins over Mike Massenzio, Chris Leben, and Jorge Santiago. However, Sonnen completely dominated him en route to a second round submission win to bring a halt to that momentum.
Sakara will return to action for the first time in over 13 months on this card. He had also been on a good three-fight winning streak prior to his last fight, but was derailed by then-newcomer Chris Weidman at UFC on Versus 3.
UPDATE: The UFC has officially confirmed that this bout will take place on the main card in Sweden.
