Ross Pearson was clearly frustrated by Junior Assuncao's counter-wrestling attack at UFC 141 on Friday night, but he still pulled off a unanimous decision victory by delivering more damage overall throughout the fight.
In his featherweight debut, Pearson consistently pressed the pace against Assuncao, but found himself fighting takedowns and the clinch for long stretches in the bout. However, he was constantly attacking and began landing strikes with more frequency.
Pearson bounced back from a loss to Edson Barboza in August, while Assuncao is now 1-1 since returning to the UFC.
