The UFC is expecting Brazil to be a major boon for them in 2012 and beyond. After a successful return to the country for the first time in the Zuffa-era last August, they're already going back in January for UFC 142. Following the UFC 140 post-fight press conference, UFC President Dana White revealed that their eying another quick turnaround as well.
Said White (via MMAWeekly.com): "How many events are we going to do in Brazil next year? Right now, what I know, we've got two coming up. We're gonna do Rio [in January] and probably another one in May."
The May event is expected to be a stadium card, and would be about a month earlier than what had been rumored, meaning Anderson Silva's return could be coming earlier than expected. He'll take on the winner of January's Chael Sonnen vs. Mark Munoz bout from UFC on Fox 2.
