Moments ago at the UFC 140 press conference, Frank Mir said he'd be glad to step in against Brock Lesnar on Dec. 30 if the rumor tonight is true that Alistair Overeem is pulling out of the fight.
In response to the rumor, Mir said: "The way the heavyweight are stacking up right now, I wouldn't mind facing Brock (on Dec. 30). Three weeks isn't a bad touraround. I only fought a three minute fight. I'm feeling pretty good. My wife might not be happy about Christmas. As far as the match-up, the winner of that bout gets the next heavyweight shot." He said he doesn't want to wait for the winner of that Dec. 30 fight to get a title shot before he does.
