Michael Bisping took a coaching gig on the 14th season of The Ultimate Fighter initially expecting to be opposite Chael Sonnen with a number one contender fight at the end of the season. Sonnen's suspension made that an impossibility, and Jason "Mayhem" Miller was plugged into his place. In a brief interview with MMAWeekly.com, Bisping talked about his advantages over Miller in coaching the season, and said Miller ended up being a "great replacement":
"Initially I was a little disappointed. I was kind of excited to go against Chael. [But] Miller turned out to be a great, great replacement. He was a great opposing coach and we certainly gave the fans something to watch... The advantage I have [in coaching TUF], I know what these guys are going through. I've been there. I know how hard of process this is. I really truly wanted these guys to succeed. I wasn't there for me. I was there to help eight up-and-coming fighters reach their goals."
