...OH, ONE MORE THING - PLEASE BOOKMARK US & VISIT DAILY!
A welterweight bout between Diego Sanchez and Jake Ellenberger has been agreed upon for an early 2012 event, according to a report from Heavy.com, though the date and location for the fight has not been determined.
Sanchez will return for the first time since March of this year, as he suffered a broken hand in training for a September bout with Matt Hughes that took him out of action. Sanchez has won two straight fights into this fight.
Ellenberger has been on a tear, and will be out to establish himself as a contender to the Welterweight Championship with a sixth straight win. He's coming off his biggest win yet, a first round knockout of Jake Shields in September.
Penick's Analysis: This is the fight I wanted to see next for Ellenberger when he didn't get booked against Carlos Condit, so I'm glad to see it's on the mind of the UFC as well. It will make a great second or third fight on any card it gets put on, so it really doesn't matter what card the UFC ends up booking it on.
