It was appearing as if Nick Diaz would no show another media obligation on Wednesday, as he was absent for the first 40 minutes of the UFC 137 media conference call. He did finally join the call, and told media members he hadn't even known there was a call on Wednesday.
"I didn't even know there was a call," Diaz said. "I woke up, my phone was dead, then my brother told me I was supposed to be on a call... I didn't get any notice; I didn't even know about it until 15 minutes ago [that there was a call]."
This could easily have been a legitimate issue of Diaz not knowing there was a call, considering the following Tweet from UFC President Dana White:
"I'm hearing UFC dropped the ball on the Nick Diaz no show today!! SUCKS"
However, then Josh Gross from ESPN added this tidbit:
"If Nick told the truth that he didn't know there was a call then blame Cesar Gracie. He knew. He told me about it yesterday afternoon."
