A night littered with finishes at UFC on FOX 7 ended up producing a decision to determine the winner of our confidence picks game. Nate Diaz, Jordan Mein Lorenz Larkin and Clifford Starks all cost you valuable points on a night of a few surprises. Sadly for most of us, we backed the wrong surprises.

As per the TUF 17 Finale last week, Ed Gibbons had 10 extra bonus points and Alex Potapoff had an extra $500 to spend in the betting game. Without further ado, let's take a look at how we all did:

CONFIDENCE GAME FIGHT PREDICTIONS

61 people submitted entries for this card. Here’s a combined breakdown of how many confidence points you placed on each fighter (Winner in bold):

Benson Henderson - 423
Gilbert Melendez - 25

Daniel Cormier - 494
Frank Mir - 34

Josh Thomson - 103
Nate Diaz - 252

Matt Brown - 32
Jordan Mein - 385

Chad Mendes - 531
Darren Elkins - 29

Francis Carmont - 105
Lorenz Larkin - 175

Myles Jury - 309
Ramsey Nijem - 32

Joseph Benavidez - 608
Darren Uyenoyama - 0

Jorge Masvidal - 169
Tim Means - 65

T.J. Dillashaw - 491
Hugo Viana - 8

Anthony Njokuani - 178
Roger Bowling - 58

Yoel Romero - 67
Clifford Starks - 85

CONFIDENCE GAME RESULTS

Nick Williams (62 points)
defeats Joel "Chico Guapo" Wielenga (43 points) to retain his title as MMA Torch Confidence Picks Champion. Another comfortable win for the champion as he moves on to four successive title defenses. Nick only dropped points on Mein, Diaz and Mir. Joel on the other hand, had a bit of a nightmare: losing valuable points on seven of the twelve fights last night.

Up next for the reigning champion is Alex Potapoff who scored a stunning 77 points. Ed Gibbons armed with his extra points: couldn't quite capitalize on his advantage. Both guys scored 77 points, but Alex had eleven winning picks, as opposed to Ed who had nine. As per the rules for a tie breaker, big Alex is the new No 1 contender. Well done.

Here are the results of the Confidence Picks pool:

77 - Alex Potapoff
77 - Ed Gibbons

Note: Should either champion, or challenger fail to submit picks for UFC 159 (Jones vs. Sonnen), Ed Gibbons would step up as a challenger, and so on. Everyone else will be fighting for the No 1 contender slot on the night, and the right to face off against Nick or Alex at UFC on FX 8 (Belfort vs. Rockhold) next month.

RECAP

MMA Torch Confidence Picks Championship Match Up (UFC 159)

Nick Williams (Champion) vs. Alex Potapoff (Challenger)

MMA Torch Betting Picks Championship Match Up (UFC 159)

Jimbo Slice (Champion) vs. Alex Potapoff (Challenger)

Performer of the Night: He dropped only one single point in the confidence picks game. He quadrupled his betting money, despite the added pressure of an additional $500, which could have easily ended up in embarrassment. He also takes home the signed Bruce Buffer picture. Well done, Alex Potapoff.

Goat of the Night: The Philly boys were running an additional competition this week with the loser having to show an embarrassing old picture of themselves on Twitter, for all to see. I look forward to seeing what JayMon1002 (AKA Jason Thompson) has to offer because you lost, bro. Although you just scored more confidence points than Bill or Mark, you laid a big fat steaming goose egg in the bets and that sealed your fate.

We're back again for UFC 159 later this week so keep looking for updates throughout the week.
