If you backed a load of underdogs at UFC 153, then it just wasn't your night. Only Critiano Marcello, Chris Camozzi and Jon Fitch earned victories as underdogs; while every other fight went down exactly as expected. 18 competitors in the confidence pool dropped no more than 10 points, it really was that close. Having a very lop sided fight card helped, but you still have to pick them, so congrats to almost all of you this weekend.

CONFIDENCE GAME RESULTS
Dan Moore (73 points) defeats Chris Wallner (69 points) to become the new MMA Torch Confidence Picks Champion. This was another very close contest that went right down to the Nogueira vs. Herman fight. I had Big Nog for 8 whilst Chris had him for 3. Had Dave Herman pulled off the surprise win, I would have ended up 1 point behind Chris. We both had Anderson Silva for 12 meaning victory was already in the bank before the main event started. I missed on Medadi (3) and Erick Silva (2) whilst Chris missed on Gambino (1), Trinaldo (2) and Medadi (6).
Next up for me at UFC 154 (St-Pierre vs. Condit) will be Mark Bunce who scored a whopping 85 points. Mark went into UFC 153 with 15 extra confidence points courtesy of his UFC on FX 5 win last weekend. It paid dividends. Mark has earned himself a title shot; but so to has Robb Parris, who didn't drop a single point last night. Call it controversial but what the heck; I'm officially announcing a three way dance at UFC 154 between me, Mark and Robb. I just can't let a perfect score go unrewarded, so if Mark is happy with it, we'll do a triple threat match.
Here are the results of the Confidence Picks pool:
85 - Mark Bunce 78 - Robb Parris 77 - Joel "The Flying Dutchman" Wielenga 73 - Jack Broadey 73 - Jamie Penick 73 - Jimbo Slice 73 - Rich Hansen 72 - Thomas Collins 72 - Chris McCann 71 - Kevin Seng 71 - Dionicio "Dominus" Ortiz 71 - Harry Cooper 71 - Dave Little 70 - Tom Strong 70 - Jason McKee 69 - John Theis 68 - Rich Race 68 - Mandeep Singh 67 - Avery Clarke 67 - Carll Light 67 - Nick Williams 66 - Frazer McKenzie 65 - Paul Connellan 65 - Mitchell McDonald 64 - Anthony Sinnott 63 - David Lindahn 63 - Simon Kerry 63 - Sam Martin 63 - Matt Page 62 - Charles Mickael 62 - JayMon 1002 62 - Eugene Kim 61 - Shaun Louis 61 - Dennis Fagan 60 - Scott Pipher 59 - Clay Burley 54 - David Moxon 53 - BJ Tuttle 51 - Joe Williams 50 - Josh Hall 42 - James Cater 39 - Brandon Ashcraft 39 - "Ravishing" Mark Sacchetti 33 - Steve Goobie
Note: Should either the champion, or both challengers fail to submit their picks for UFC 154 (St-Pierre vs. Condit), Joel "The Flying Dutchman" Wielenga would step up as a challenger, and so on. Everyone else will be fighting for the No 1 contender slot on the night, and the right to face off against me, Mark or Robb at UFC on FOX (Henderson vs. Diaz) in December.
BETTING GAME RESULTS
Dan Moore ($2231.35) defeats Rich Hansen ($1682.26) to retain his status as undisputed MMA Torch Betting Picks Champion. Again it was one specific match up that decided this, and it came in the very first fight. Rich lost his parlay when Medadi was robbed of a decision and that was that. My parlay came through and it was enough to win, despite Rich landing a Fitch win for $500.
Dan Moore: $2231.35
$100 on Camozzi for $220
$350 on Maia for $575.81
$350 on Tibau for $575.81

Rich Hansen: $1682.26
$250 on Camozzi for $550
$500 on Fitch for $1050
$50 on Tibau for $82.26
My next opponent is Avery Clarke who managed to his money and came home with a sweet $3010.13. Jimbo Slice who started the night with an extra $500 could only manage 2nd place despite that big cash injection. Rich Race, Kevin Seng and Jamie Penick all posted excellent returns, but it wasn't enough to deny Avery the chance to take home the betting title next month.

MMA Torch Betting Picks Championship Match Up (UFC 154)
Dan Moore (Champion) vs. Avery Clarke (Challenger)
Performer of the Night: I'm taking this one. My third consecutive betting title defense and now the new confidence picks champion. I might create a Hall of Fame!
Goat of the Night: On a card stacked with heavy favorites, you really should post big numbers. Sadly no one told new entrant Steve Goobie who ended up with 33 points, was the only person to back Stephan Bonnar and lost every cent in the betting. You earned this Steve and welcome to the game. It's not as easy as it looks but the only way is up buddy.
We'll be back for UFC 154 (St-Pierre vs. Condit) next month. I'll also continue to post links on my Twitter account when the contests go live.
