So, I'm an idiot.

I thought, I mean I really really thought, that I posted the results for the UFC 140 contests. Of course, I didn't. Whoops. I remember writing it, I remember posting it. But it ain't there. So before I get the lines up for UFC 141 later tonight, I of course need to clean up UFC 140.

In the betting game, champion Mike Wan was unsuccessful in his bid to defend his title for the first time, dropping the crown to long time player Avery Clarke. Not like Clarke wiped the floor with Wan or anything, since both players lost more than $800 of their $1000 investment. Wan's paltry $217.50 payout from a meager $50 bet on Chan Sung Jung was not quite enough to topple Clarke's $293.02 payout, which came from a $200 bet on Antonio Rogerio Nogueira. This Friday night, Clarke will try to defend his newly won title against Dionicio Ortiz. Ortiz won the betting pool with a $2685.00 payout.

$250 on Ebersole for $450
$150 on Bocek for $243.75
$200 parlay on Hallman, Ebersole, and Bocek for $1316.25

Over on the Confidence Picks side, MMA Torch Columnist (and total slacker, clearly) Rich Hansen was able to hold off challenger Chris McCann by a total of 41 to 31. My 41 points came from a pathetic five correct picks (out of twelve), but it was enough to defeat McCann who only picked four of twelve fights correctly. On Friday night, I will try to defend the throne once again; this time against Carll Light. In an overall weak showing by the pool, Light managed a respectable 52 points, which was one point more than both Joe Williams and Dionicio Ortiz.

To recap, The MMA Torch Beiing contest champion Avery Clarke will defend his newly won title against Dionicio Ortiz. And in the MMA Torch Confidence Picks game, Rich Hansen will try to fend off another challenger, this time in the form of Carll Light.
