In addition to previously reported bouts featuring Urijah Faber against Takeya Mizugaki and Brian Bowles against Wagnney Fabiano, a lightweight bout between Bart Palaszewski and Kamal Shalorus is in the works for November's WEC 52 event.
According to an MMAJunkie.com report, the two lightweight fighters have verbally agreed to square off on the card, expected to take place from the Pearl at the Palms Casino Resort in Las Vegas on November 11.
Palaszewski is coming off a knockout win over Zach Micklewright at WEC 50 last month. The win moved his current winning streak to four fights, and he's nearing title contention should he pick up a win here.
Shalorus fought to a draw against Jamie Varner in June, where he landed numerous low blows through the fight and had a point taken away. The Iranian born fighter remains undefeated with two draws in his eight fight career.
Penick's Analysis: This is a good matchup for the WEC's lightweight division. Because they're not leaning toward the Palaszewski-Anthony Pettis rematch, Pettis may be getting the next crack at WEC Lightweight Champion Benson Henderson. But if Palaszewski wins this fight, he'll have a good case for a shot of his own, as he'll have picked up five straight wins. Shalorus needs to win a couple more for that opportunity with the recent draw, but this would be a big win for him if he gets past Palaszewski himself.

"There's still a large contingent of people, that they just want to see these guys almost die, or the other guy almost die and come back, and sometimes fights are like that. Certainly they are. But sometimes you get technical masterpieces too, and to hate a beautiful, technical fight - you're not really a fight fan...
