"Sometimes when you're in the fight, you don't know how exciting it is... I had to find my range with my right, and I caught [Yves] with the left to the body. That was the plan in my mind. I knew he didn't like getting hit in the body... I don't even remember getting clipped. I remember having him against the cage. I got lazy, and he hit me right on the chin. I was out of it for a minute. If I wasn't in the shape I was in, I don't think I would've recovered. He would've had to hit me with a sledgehammer for me to quit. I'd especially like to fight (Josh) Grispi because I lost to him... [and] no one can hang with Aldo on his feet like I can."
•WEC featherweight Mark Hominick talks to MMAJunkie.com about his WEC 49 "Fight of the Night" against Yves Jabouin and adds Josh Grispi and Jose Aldo to the list of fighters he wants to face.
Penick's Analysis: Hominick's an exciting fighter. He won a couple of fights in the UFC at lightweight about four years ago before making the drop to featherweight, and he's now on a three fight win streak since losing to Grispi in 2008. All but three of his 18 wins have come by stoppage, and his fight with Jabouin was fantastic. A Grispi rematch or a fight with Aldo is slightly out of reach at this point, but I think the initial fight he called for with Leonard Garcia would be excellent. If he wins that he could try to avenge another loss from very early in his career against Mike Brown.

"There's still a large contingent of people, that they just want to see these guys almost die, or the other guy almost die and come back, and sometimes fights are like that. Certainly they are. But sometimes you get technical masterpieces too, and to hate a beautiful, technical fight - you're not really a fight fan...
Diaz has a granite chin, possesses perhaps the best recovery in the sport, his pace and conditioning are second to none and he sets records with the volume of his punches almost every time he steps into the cage. Nick Diaz is simply designed to fight the way he fights, and not many other fighters are...
"There was a lot of poison going on around there and I'm really disappointed because we had a good thing going. It was a good thing and I think people's egos got in the way. Well, not people just Javier, his ego got in the way, and too many cameras in the gym and him trying to build himself up and his brand, his AKA brand...
