POST FIGHT: Grove talked about his grandmother passing away last week and talked through the highlight of the triangle.

STAR RATING: (**) Rosholt had Grove in some precarious spots there but Grove nicely responded to pull off that submission. Of course, Rosholt's inexperience with that part of his game cost him there, as it wasn't the tightest triangle choke ever put on.

He moves it to elbows and more punches from the mount. Sotiropolous keeps throwing shots until the round ends.

Penick's Scorecard: 10-9 Sotiropolous. Once he got it to the ground he had Dent in a lot of trouble. He needs to get it right back there and this fight is his.

WINNER: Sotiropolous via submission (armbar) at 4:36 of the second round.

POST FIGHT: Sotiropolous said most of his victories have come from submission and it would have been expected of him but he wanted to show off his stand up a bit.

STAR RATING: (***-) Dent showed off some really good defense there and kept the fight going longer than it could have. Sotiropolous continues to impress fight after fight, and his top game is excellent.

WINNER: Saunders via KO at 3:24 of the first round.

POST FIGHT: Saunders said he's on top of the world and this was the most amazing fight of his life. He said he respects Davis more than any opponent he's faced before and said he could only wish that he could be where Davis is in ten years. He then apologized for his performance against Mike Swick.

STAR RATING: (***-) Hell of a performance from Saunders there.

PRELIM FIGHT B: BROCK LARSON VS. BRIAN FOSTER (WELTERWEIGHT)

ROUND ONE: Both fighters try to feel the distance out and Foster engages first. Both exchange punches and Larson finally shoots in for a single leg. He landed a number of big shots from the top before falling to side control. Larson grabs an arm before Foster took full mount again. Foster got Larson on his side and landed a few more shots. Larson throws some high kicks and lands a kick to the face with Foster down on the ground. Yves Lavigne halts the fight like it was a poke in the eye, but this should have been marked as a kick to the head of a grounded opponent, and should have been a DQ here if Foster can't continue. They do dock a point from Larson. Larson tries to come at him as they restart and Foster tries to throw him. Larson grabs a guillotine and then throws a knee to the head when Foster had a hand down and they take another point away from Larson. Wow. They restart the fight with barely any time left and the buzzer goes off.

Penick's Scorecard: 10-7 Foster. He took the round already with his ground and pound and then Larson had two points taken. He needs to finish this now.

ROUND TWO: Foster threw a leg kick early. Foster pushes forward and lands a combo. Larson pushed ahead and landed a few shots but Foster pushed him off with a punch of his own. Foster again landed a good counter punch. Foster continued to stalk and press the action. Larson tried to avoid on the outside. Foster lands a spinning back kick and another punch that rocks Larson. He shot in, picked Larson up and dropped him. He then started unleashing shots on a grounded Larson. Larson got back to his feet and then shot in for a takedown and ate a bunch of shots. He tapped to the strikes and Foster picks up his first UFC win in most impressive fashion.

WINNER: Foster via TKO at 3:25 of the second round.

STAR RATING: (***-) That was as impressive of a first victory as you can get in the UFC. To do what he did to a fighter like Brock Larson is nothing short of shocking, and it was an excellently dominant performance from Foster tonight.

Sadollah keeps pressing and gets a big knee and punch combo against the cage. Another nice jab and Sadollah keeps on him. Sadollah finishes the fight with knees and punches to Baroni on the cage and he'll take this one in a great performance against a tough Baroni.

Penick's Scorecard: 10-9 Sadollah. Baroni had nothing in the tank there, but showed tremendous toughness and an ability to take punishment as Sadollah stayed on him all the way through the second and third round.

WINNER: Sadollah via unanimous decision (30-27, 30-27, 29-28)

POST FIGHT: Sadollah said the win was huge and he loved the fight. He said he liked to throw kicks and asked if he could get a copy of the fight after watching the replay.

STAR RATING: (**+) Sloppy fight but enjoyable. Sadollah's relentless attack in the second and third round was good to see out of him.

POST FIGHT: He said he loves to be here in America and thanks the fans. He said he knew Cane was a good boxer and respected him a lot.

STAR RATING: (***-) It was short, but Nogueira was damned impressive in his UFC debut. I expected Cane to be able to do a lot more in this one but alas it was Nogueira shutting him down quickly.

He tries to get a hook in and nearly gets mount but Thiago scrambles out and gets into his Volkmann's guard. Volkmann nicely controls Thiago's body here and Thiago can't get much offense in in the last minute here. Just as I type that he drops a huge right hand and gets to side control. WINNER: Thiago via unanimous decision (29-28, 30-27, 30-27)

POST FIGHT: Thiago said Volkmann was really tough and put on a good show.

STAR RATING: (**+) That wasn't the most exciting fight, but it was a solid back and forth between both fighters and Volkmann gave a good showing in his debut.

-Apparently we won't be seeing the Caol Uno vs. Fabricio Camoes bout, as they are re-airing Kendall Grove vs. Jake Rosholt and we'll see all the other fights other than that one.

ROUND TWO: Johnson comes out stalking in the second. He lands an inside leg kick, then a jab and an outside leg kick early on. Koscheck then lands a punch that pokes Johnson in the eye. Koschek lands a left and then a high kick. Koscheck with the overhand right again. He lands a flurry of punches along with a body punch and Johnson grabs at his eye again. STAR RATING: (***-) Strange fight, with the two stoppages for illegal blows, but Koscheck picks up a huge victory here in impressive fashion at the end. I'd agree that he's earned a shot more than Dan Hardy has, but he's also fought GSP before.

MAIN EVENT FIGHT SEVEN: TITO ORTIZ VS. FORREST GRIFFIN (LIGHT HEAVYWEIGHT)

Tito half heartedly attempted a takedown. Forrest again with a combo. Forrest again with a right hand rocks Tito. He pushes forward again and this round was all Forrest. He lands another right hand and another combo as the round ends. and they embrace in a show of respect.

Penick's Scorecard: 10-8 Griffin. Tito did almost nothing in that round and Forrest picked him apart. If he loses this fight it's more controversial than him losing the first one.

WINNER: Griffin via split decision (28-29, 30-27, 29-28)

POST FIGHT: Griffin said it feels great, he's thankful to everyone and he's thankful for their support. He points to Anderson and says he was broken by Silva. He said he was lazy with the sweep and was taking elbows. He said they should do it a third time and said Ortiz was off with back surgery and was training for Coleman. Ortiz said Griffin put on a great show and said he had a cracked skull and came in to fight anyway and got pissed at the crowd booing him. Forrest stepped in and said to the crowd, "it turns out that if you train to fight you get hurt training." Ortiz asked the people if they were entertained and got pissed at the crowd some more.

STAR RATING: (***+) Very good main event fight, and in a lot of ways similar to their first, though this time Forrest was simply much better on the feet and was able to avoid much of the damage from Ortiz on the ground, outside of a few elbows in the second round. I think a rubber match between the two would be a good fight, and hopefully both can be closer to 100% when and if they do fight again.

-The only undercard bout that was not shown was Caol Uno vs. Fabricio Camoes, and Uno won that bout via majority decision.
