=====Fox Sports 1 Preliminary Card=====

-Mike Goldberg opens up the FS1 broadcast outside of the building with a group of troops behind him, and sets the stage into a video for the Intrepid Fallen Heroes Fund, whom the UFC has partnered with on these Fight for the Troops cards.

After breaking down what fights are coming up tonight, they move quickly to the first televised fight of the night.

PRELIM FIGHT ONE: AMANDA NUNES VS. GERMAINE DE RANDAMIE (WOMEN'S BANTAMWEIGHT)

ROUND ONE: The action was sparse early, with each tossing in a low leg kick. Nunes went high with a spinning kick but de randamie was out of range. De Randamie was patient in the center, but the action was quite tentative in the opening minute. De Randamie got in with a kick and Nunes clinched and went for a takedown. De Randamie held off the attempt well against the cage, but Nunes stayed on the high crotch single. She shifted to a double leg and dragged de Randamie down. Nunes tried to pull de Randamie off the cage to get to mount and she completed the pass. De Randamie tried to use the cage but Nunes dragged her away towards the center. She postured up and landed an elbow, but stayed patient with plenty of time to work. She postured up again and threw several strikes, but de Randamie blocked most of them. Nunes continued throwing elbows, but a lot of them were not getting through. Herb Dean was telling de Randamie to fight back, but all she could do in that position was block and she was doing that. Herb Dean stopped it anyway. Not really a fan of the stoppage, as most of those shots were not getting through, but de Randamie was stuck in a spot where she couldn't do much else but defend.

WINNER: Nunes via TKO at 3:56 of the first round

STAR RATING: (*+) One-sided fight once it hit the ground. De Randamie couldn't get out of that position once Nunes got into that mount position, and though Nunes wasted a lot of energy on shots that were not getting through, the relentless nature of it had as much to do with the stoppage as anything.

PRELIM FIGHT TWO: DENNIS BERMUDEZ VS. STEVEN SILER (FEATHERWEIGHT)

ROUND ONE: Bermudez popped in with an early jab. He popped him again. Siler engaged and Bermudez shot in. Siler initially held it off, but Bermudez completed the takedown. Siler regained guard and got back to a knee and then his feet having taken relatively little damage. Bermudez stayed on him against the cage but landed a knee to the groin, bringing a halt to the action. Siler landed a couple of jabs as they restarted, and he looked to use his reach a little more. He connected again on a head-snapping jab. He blocked a rush from Bermudez. He landed a hard left. Bermudez shot in but Siler grabbed a tight guillotine. Bermudez circled out of it, but Siler went back to it. Bermudez got out and into guard. Siler attacked for a triangle, but Bermudez lifted him up and slammed him to get out before it could get locked on. Siler stayed active from his back, but took a few big shots from Bermuedez in his guard. Siler again went for the guillotine but Bermudez got out. Bermudez then went for an arm in guillotine similar to Ryan Bader's finish of Vladimir Matyushenko. Bermudez continued attacking, but Siler popped out and got on top. Siler was a bit drained from defending that choke as he got to his feet. Siler went for another choke standing but got shaken off. Both guys are tired after a fun but exhausting round.

Penick's Scorecard: 10-9 Bermudez. For his sake hopefully he didn't gas his arms out on that choke attempt, but he did more overall to take the frame. Really fun round.

ROUND TWO: Bermudez slipped early but wouldn't let Siler capitalize. Bermudez rushed with some strikes but they were blocked. He went for another takedown and again shrugged right out of a guillotine attempt from Siler. Bermudez worked back to his feet quickly. Bermudez then drove forward for a takedown out of the clinch. Siler held body control in guard and Bermudez tried to disrupt Siler's breathing. Siler tried to sneak out to Bermudez's back but Bermudez kept him on his back and passed to half guard. Bermudez set up a nasty looking neck crank, but Siler loosened the pressure. Siler broke out of the position and regained guard. He got to his feet but Bermudez kept him against the cage. He landed a knee and an elbow before the round ended.

Penick's Scorecard: 10-9 Bermudez. He's got complete positional control so far, and Siler has to be in desperation mode in this final round.

ROUND THREE: Bermudez landed a big right hand early. He shot in for a single leg and Siler used a choke to force a scramble back to the feet. Siler landed a ahrd two punch combo. He connected on a jab. Bermudez landed a front kick to the body. Siler again connected on a two punch combo. Siler landed another right and Bermudez rushed in with the clinch. Siler broke free and came back in. Siler landed a solid left. Bermudez landed a left. He missed a winging overhand right. Siler landed a right. They traded punches in the center. Siler stuffed a takedown attempt and they each landed strikes. Siler landed a jab. Bermudez completed a takedown with just under a minute and a half left. He passed briefly, but Siler regained guard. Siler got back to his feet. Bermudez tried for a standing choke but Siler pressed out of it. They traded punches and Siler gotin with a knee. They traded punches to the end.

Penick's Scorecard: 10-9 Bermudez. Siler had some better offense there that round, but it just wasn't enough. Bermudez fought a really good fight.

WINNER: Bermudez via unanimous decision (30-27, 30-27, 30-27)

STAR RATING: (**+) Fantastic first round, but things went a little down from there as they were both drained a bit from the craziness of the opening five minutes.

PRELIM FIGHT 3: GEORGE ROOP VS. FRANCISCO RIVERA (BANTAMWEIGHT)

ROUND ONE: Roop threw a head kick early that was blocked and Rivera threw a right. Rivera landed a big two punch combo and they clinched. Rivera broke out of the clinch and landed a right. He landed a few punches in combination. Rivera landed a couple more uppercuts. Roop clinched and Rivera shrugged him off. Roop got up high with a kick. Rivera landed a few strikes in combination again. Close round.

Penick's Scorecard: 10-9 Rivera. The judges will probably lean Roop because of the top position, but I think Rivera was a lot more effective offensively, and Roop wasn't able to do much with the takedown.

ROUND TWO: Roop jumped in with a knee early but it was blocked. He landed a kick. Rivera landed a hard right. Roop landed a jab. The crowd started chanting for Roop. He landed a couple of leg kicks. Rivera landed a couple of strikes. Roop landed a jab, but Rivera stalked. Roop caught Rivera between the legs and the action stalled. Rivera missed a counter right. He connected the next time around. He landed a nice uppercut and hurt Roop. Rivera started rushing with punches and Roop went down. Rivera landed some heavy strikes from the top. Roop worked to his feet but Rivera stayed on him with pressure. He kept the assault going and Roop went down again and the referee finally stepped in. Just a relentless assault and he let everything go as he just crumpled in exhaustion after the fight was stopped.

WINNER: Rivera via TKO at 2:20 of the second round

STAR RATING: (**+) Another fun fight. Rivera's striking was relentless in that second round, and though Roop is a tough guy for taking those strikes, once Rivera had him hurt it was only a matter of time.

PRELIM FIGHT FOUR: BOBBY GREEN VS. JAMES KRAUSE (LIGHTWEIGHT)

ROUND ONE: Krause opened up with leg kicks as Green moved forward. They traded kicks and Green caught Krause low. Third time tonight. Krause went right back to a leg kick. Green landed a nice straight left. He got in with a hard body punch. Krause connected on a few. Green landed another kick to the groin, even harder than the first. John McCarthy took a point from Green. As they restarted, Green moved in and tried to pick up the pace. Green landed a third groin strike and McCarthy called a stop to the fight. He called it a legal blow and said Green was the winner. That was the top of the cup. Really bad call by McCarthy here. Really bad.

WINNER: Green via TKO (ref stoppage) at 3:50 of the first round

STAR RATING: (n/a) Especially after the replays shown, that's just a really bad call. The last kick absolutely hit the top of the cup, and Krause was already hurting there from the two previous low blows. I hate that call.

-They replayed Derek Brunson's victory over Brian Houston in the opening bout.

=====FS1 Main Card=====

-Goldberg and Rogan welcome in anyone who wasn't already on FS1 during the prelims for the main card. They re-air the Intrepid Fallen Heroes Fund video as well.

MAIN CARD FIGHT ONE: COLTON SMITH VS. MICHAEL CHIESA (LIGHTWEIGHT)

ROUND ONE: Smith threw some kicks early as Chiesa took the center. Chiesa landed a right with a knee behind it and Smith grabbed a body lock. Chiesa gave up his back standing and Smith slammed him. Chiesa worked to his feet as Smith tried to get a rear naked choke in himself. Chiesa slammed Smith down and got out of the hold. Smith landed some elbows and got both hooks in once again. Chiesa worked back to his feet and went for a kimura to get Smith off of him. They stood off as the round ended. Good stuff.

Penick's Scorecard: 10-9 Smith. Really good first round. He had a bit more in positional control and came closer to stopping the fight. Easily the best round he's had in the UFC yet.

ROUND TWO:Smith immediately closed the distance as Chiesa landed a couple of strikes. He worked from the clinch, but Chiesa went for his own takedown. Smith stopped it and they separated. Chiesa landed a couple of strikes in the center. He landed a solid straight left. He threw a straight kick and Smith clinched again. Chiesa pulled off a beautiful throw, took Smith's back, locked on a rear naked choke and forced the tap. Beautiful sequence from Chiesa for the win.

WINNER: Chiesa via submission (rear naked choke) at 1:41 of the second round

STAR RATING: (***) Great fight, and pleasantly surprising at that. The styles meshed perfectly to put on a frenetic and fun first round on the ground, and Chiesa just finished in fantastic fashion with that judo throw into the choke.

Masvidal tripped Khabilov up briefly, but Khabilov got to his feet. Khabilov threw some strikes. He got a spinning kick from Masvidal and tried to control him on the ground. Masvidal rolled through, and in a nice scramble they both got to their feet. Masvidal stuffed another shot from Khabilov. Khabilov shook him down and landed some strikes to the body as Masvidal hald onto his leg. Khabilov landed a strike as they got to their feet.

Penick's Scorecard: 10-9 Khabilov. I have no idea how Masvidal survived that kick, but credit to him for doing so. This should be a win for Khabilov, but both of the first two rounds were close. He just needs one of them from two judges and he'll stay perfect in the UFC.

WINNER: Khabilov via unanimous decision (30-27, 29-28, 30-27)

STAR RATING: (**) That was the right decision, and a solid fight. Not the most thrilling, though it had its moments, but Khabilov definitely had a case for each of the first two rounds.

MAIN CARD FIGHT THREE: RONNY MARKES VS. YOEL ROMERO (MIDDLEWEIGHT)

ROUND ONE: Markes landed a hard body kick to start things off. Romero had a bit of a funky side stance and threw some low kicks from his back leg. He got one in to the body. Romero missed a spinning back fist. Romero shot in but got stuffed. Markes got in a kick before the round ended.

Penick's Scorecard: 10-9 Markes. Barely. Very close round, and the damage edge went to Romero, but he wasn't terribly active, so his output was a bit too low to take the round. Real close, though, and I wouldn't have a problem with him taking it.

ROUND TWO: Romero tried to close the distance early and Markes pressed him back. Romero landed a left in close. He got in a body kick. He landed a short forearm, a knee, and a few more strikes in combination. Romero landed the left two more times. It connected again. Romero again landed the left. Romero got in a knee to the body. That punch was finding a home all fight, and it finally put Markes down.

WINNER: Romero via TKO at 1:39 of the third round

STAR RATING: (**+) Excellent finish from Romero and really just a solid overall performance. His striking was on point, he's got a solid enough chin to take the strikes he took, and he had Markes thrown off his game the whole fight.

Penick's Scorecard: 10-9 Davis. She pressed the pace the whole round and landed a lot more strikes. Should be her fight, but we'll see how the judges score it.

WINNER: Davis via unanimous decision (30-27, 30-27, 29-28)

STAR RATING: (**-) Pretty much an average fight. Just not a ton happened at all. Carmouche just didn't do a ton, and was constantly backed up while taking a ton of damage to her lead leg.

-The score was unanimous, after briefly being changed to a split, it turns out the scores were added wrong and the 29-28 was indeed for Davis.

-They re-aired the Yancy Medeiros-Yves Edwards bout, and are likely to run over tonight, pushing TUF late. However, that's for a reason, as the UFC's Dave Sholler commented on Twitter that they're simply trying to give more time to the work being done by the Intrepid Fallen Heroes Fund tonight.

MAIN EVENT FIGHT FIVE: TIM KENNEDY VS. RAFAEL NATAL (MIDDLEWEIGHT)

Natal landed a body punch. Comcast decided to cut out with 45 seconds left. As I come back, Kennedy has landed a leaping left hook that knocked Natal down and he's out! WOW! That's a huge win for Kennedy in a round he was losing.

WINNER: Kennedy via TKO at 4:40 of the first round

STAR RATING: (**+) That's probably the biggest win of Kennedy's career right there, given the setting, the opponent, and the fact that this amounted to a comeback in a round he was losing. Just huge, huge, huge for Kennedy, and this was so much better for him than another lengthy fight. Well done.
