Penick's Scorecard: 10-9 Forte. The knockdown late stole it, though not much happened in the round once again. It has not been a good fight thus far.

ROUND THREE: On replay it wasn't a knockdown, as Moraes dropped to his back on his own volition, but those final punches were still the most significant portion of the fight. As the third began, they continued winging punches and missing one another. They traded strikes in the center. Moraes landed a nice right after taking a leg kick. Forte tried to shake Moraes off of him, but as it went to the ground Moraes got the hold on tighter and Forte was forced to tap.

WINNER: Moraes via submission (rear naked choke) at of the third round

STAR RATING: (**-) The first two rounds were really bad and boring, but that was some nice transition work in the scramble from Moraes in the final frame to eventually get the choke. Nice finish to a bad fight.

FIGHT TWO: DIEGO BRANDAO VS. JOEY GAMBINO (FEATHERWEIGHT)

Penick's Scorecard: 10-9 Brandao. The knockdown and takedown worked very much in his favor that frame.

Just as I type that he caught a kick and dropped Gambino with a punch. He let Gambino stand up. Brandao missed a punch and Gambino tried to score a takedown. He got stuffed. Penick's Scorecard: 10-9 Brandao. Another knockdown and good damage on the ground make it a clean sweep for Brandao.

WINNER: Brandao via unanimous decision (30-27, 30-27, 30-27)

STAR RATING: (**) Good all-around performance from Brandao with a couple of nice knockdowns in there, but it was just an average fight overall. Still, that was Brandao's most complete performance in the UFC thus far, and he showed some definite improvement.

FIGHT THREE: GLEISON TIBAU VS. FRANCISCO TRINALDO (LIGHTWEIGHT)

ROUND ONE: Both fighters seemed a little hesitant to engage early. Trinaldo threw the first strike with a punch to the body. Trinaldo got in with a left and they exchanged strikes. Penick's Scorecard: 10-9 Tibau. Pretty big opening frame for him. Several big striking combinations landed, and he scored with takedowns as well. Now he just has to keep it up.

Tibau continued defending as Trinaldo kept trying to score from the top. Tibau defended and held on to the end of the round.

Penick's Scorecard: 10-9 Trinaldo. Huge knockdown led to him spending almost the entire round in control on the ground. Close to a 10-8, and I wouldn't argue with it.

ROUND THREE: Both fighters came out swinging, but it was Tibau connecting. He drove Trinaldo to the cage, landed several strikes, then drove in and scored a big early takedown. Tibau landed some short strikes from Trinaldo's guard. He got in more hammerfists, then passed to half guard. Tibau was trying to advance, and they were stood up. Tibau scored another takedown. Tibau ended the round in the mount.

Penick's Scorecard: 10-9 Tibau. Huge rebound round after a bad second round for him. He nearly scored a submission, but Trinaldo caught his foot and didn't let him fully get to side control for the arm triangle. Still, good performance from both fighters overall.

WINNER: Tibau via unanimous decision (29-28, 29-28, 29-28)

STAR RATING: (**+) That was probably Tibau's most exciting fight in the UFC. Really fun exchanges, big momentum swings between the first, second, and third rounds, and just good work from both fighters throughout.

FIGHT FOUR: RONY JASON VS. SAM SICILIA (FEATHERWEIGHT)

They started exchanging strikes, but Jason landed more of them. Jason continued the attack against the cage before the round ended.

Penick's Scorecard: 10-9 Jason. Yamasaki's early stand up allowed Jason to finish with even more offense, and he was in control of more of that round.

Sicilia landed a hard right after Jason landed to the body. Jason caught a kick and dropped Sicilia with a big right. He landed an elbow and started pouring on hammerfists. Sicilia stopped fighting back, and Yamasaki stopped the bout. Big comeback because he was losing that round.

WINNER: Jason via TKO at 4:16 of the second round

STAR RATING: (**+) That was a sloppy, but enjoyable brawl from those two featherweights. They were going crazy with their punches, and each was leaving himself open to getting hit. It finally caught up to Sicilia after Jason caught that kick, and to his credit Jason finished with a flurry when the spot opened up.

=====Pay-Per-View Card=====

-Goldberg and Rogan welcomed the pay-per-view card and ran down what's to come on tonight's pay-per-view event.

FIGHT FIVE: DEMIAN MAIA VS. RICK STORY (WELTERWEIGHT)

ROUND ONE: Story landed an early left hook and Maia went for an immediate takedown. Maia then scored the takedown. Story tried to climb up the cage, and Maia stayed on him. He got him to the ground and started working from top control. He moved to pass, but Story got to his feet. Maia took him back down and took his back with the hooks in. He worked to the submission hold, then secured the rear naked choke and forced the tap. That's his first submission win since subbing Chael Sonnen in February of 2009.

WINNER: Maia via submission (rear naked choke/neck crank) at 2:30 of the first round

STAR RATING: (**+) That was the Maia of old right there. That's exactly the type of thing he was able to do on his early run at middleweight: take his opponent down at will, and work toward the finish quickly.

FIGHT SIX: PHIL DAVIS VS. WAGNER PRADO (LIGHT HEAVYWEIGHT)

ROUND ONE: Prado engaged with a couple of early strike attempts. Davis tried to tie him up but Prado got loose. Davis ducked under a punch and scored a takedown. Davis landed a few lefts. He secured the takedown. Davis landed some good body strikes. Prado worked back up to his feet. Davis landed a couple of punches. Davis shot in again, and took him right back down. Davis passed to side control. He tried to step over and Prado got him in half guard. Davis grabbed for the arm triangle, then passed to side control. Prado rolled through it and got out. Davis held control of him, then locked on the anaconda choke and gator-rolled to force the tap. That was almost identical to the Alexander Gustafsson finish for Davis.

WINNER: Davis via submission (anaconda choke) at 4:29 of the second round

STAR RATING: (**+) Exactly what was expected from Davis in this fight. He's still got a lot to improve upon to compete in the elite level, but he's at the top of the next group of fighters, and he was way too much for Prado here.

Fitch continued throwing punches and elbows, and I'm surprised it hasn't been stopped yet. Fitch landed a ton of strikes, most of them getting through. Silva tried to kick off the cage. He got to his feet and Fitch grabbed a final headlock to end the fight.

Penick's Scorecard: 10-8 Fitch. That was a sustained beating from Fitch, and the fight easily could have been stopped in the final two minutes at any point.

WINNER: Fitch via unanimous decision

STAR RATING: (***+) Forget the boos, that was one of Jon Fitch's very best fights in the UFC, if not the best fight he's had in the Octagon. He was dominant in the first and third, and that second round was quite thrilling with near submissions from both. That could have easily been a stoppage in the third round, too. He put a beating on Silva in that final frame.

FIGHT EIGHT: GLOVER TEIXEIRA VS. FABIO MALDONADO (LIGHT HEAVYWEIGHT)

ROUND ONE: Maldonado landed a couple of jabs early, but got cracked almost immediately by a big left. Teixeira cracked him again and he went down. He bullied him over and got into mount. Maldonado landed a left hook that hurt Teixeira. Teixeira was wobbly. He landed a couple of strikes and came back. He took Maldonado down to end the round.

Penick's Scorecard: 10-8 Teixeira. Yamasaki allowing this ridiculous beating led to Maldonado nearly pulling off a crazy late upset with that late hook, but Teixeira kicked his ass badly in that round.

ROUND TWO: Teixeira immediately took Maldonado down. He bullied him over again. Maldonado gave up his back. He worked back to his feet. Maldonado landed a couple of jabs. Teixeira scored another takedown. He flattened Maldonado out and got mount once again. He landed a big elbow and a right. He landed more vicious elbows and this ridiculous beating is being allowed to continue. Maldonado escaped to half guard. Teixeira tried to pass to mount again, but Maldonado got him back to half guard. The action slowed as there' s only so much damage Teixeira can do. And then they were stood up. Yamasaki called time to look at Maldonado. Maldonado had a massive hematoma over his left eye. They let him continue. Fighters really need to be saved from themselves. This could be bad for Maldonado regardless of whether he can come back. Teixeira landed a right as they restarted. Teixeira landed a hard left hook. Then another. Then he landed a right over the top. He rocked him again with a left to the jaw, and they ended with another exchange.

Penick's Scorecard: 10-8 Teixeira. Not quite as bad as the first round, but Maldonado didn't have much of anything to offer and took even more damage.

-The doctors mercifully call a halt to the fight in between rounds.

WINNER: Teixeira via TKO (doctor's stoppage) at 5:00 of the second round

STAR RATING: I don't even want to rate that one. There was excitement involved, and Teixeira is an absolute beast, but the punishment that Maldonado was taking in the fight was getting uncomfortable to watch, and the fight should have been stopped much earlier than it was. Yamasaki should have stopped it when Maldonado stood in the first and was wobbly as all hell on the cage. He had tons of heart, and he's one tough S.O.B., but he could have been seriously, seriously hurt by that fight continuing.

Penick's Scorecard: 10-9 Nogueira. Herman scored throughout, but Nogueira was landing a lot more and was the aggressor.

ROUND TWO: Nogueira dropped Herman early with a quick combo. He moved to side control. Nogueira grabbed for an american, but used it to get to mount. Herman tried to use his legs to get out. Nogueira rushed in with a few strikes and landed a couple. Nogueira scored another takedown into side control. He got to mount and went for the armbar again. Herman rolled over, Nogueira went belly down with the armbar, so Herman rolled back over. Nogueira had it tight this time, so Herman was finally forced to tap. That's Herman's first loss by submission.

WINNER: Nogueira via submission (armbar) at 4:31 of the second round

STAR RATING: (**+) It was exciting in spurts, and Herman's sub defense added a little drama. Ultimately, it was Nogueira doing what he does, and teaching Dave "jiu jitsu doesn't work on me" Herman that it can work on anyone.

MAIN EVENT FIGHT TEN: ANDERSON SILVA VS. STEPHAN BONNAR (LIGHT HEAVYWEIGHT)

ROUND ONE: Bonnar came straight to the center and tried to chase Silva down. Silva slipped on the cage and Bonnar grabbed a clinch. He landed a couple of knees to the thigh. Bonnar went for the single and Silva stuffed it and landed a few strikes. Bonnar backed off and hit Silva a couple of times. Silva struck back. Silva landed a couple of short uppercuts. Silva tripped Bonnar up then swarmed him. Bonnar stood up and Silva destroyed him with a huge knee to the body. Bonnar just crumpled and Silva finished it with strikes on the ground.

WINNER: Silva via TKO at 4:40 of the first round

STAR RATING: (***+) It's just incredible to watch Anderson Silva do what he's capable of doing inside the cage. Bonnar fought the only way he had any chance of competing, and Silva essentially allowed him some offense by dropping his hands against the cage. Then, when the time came, he exploded and destroyed Bonnar when he needed to. His ability to stop a fight at pretty much any stage of a fight is uncanny. He just messes with his opponents, and it's just fantastically entertaining to watch.

-Silva says after the fight he won't fight again at light heavyweight, and only did on this card to save it. Dana White still thinks he'll fight Jon Jones, but that's where we're at.

-Time for replays from earlier, so we'll sign off on the live report. Thanks for joining us tonight for another classic Anderson Silva performance. We'll have plenty of reaction and coverage on the event throughout the week and more as we move on to November's events as well.
