The UFC has signed another sought after prospect to their roster, as Sherdog.com reports that Swedish middleweight Papy "Makambo" Abedi has signed a four-fight deal with the organization.
The 32-year-old is 8-0 as a professional, with seven wins coming by stoppage. A black belt in Judo, Abedi will be taking his talents to the welterweight division, as his manager said he'll be dropping in weight for his UFC debut.
His debut opponent and date has not yet been determined, but it's likely to come some time this fall. According to the report, Abedi becomes the fourth Swede to take part on the UFC's roster, joining light heavyweight Alexander Gustafsson on the UFC's current roster.
Penick's Analysis: Abedi should be a good addition to the roster, and is a highly thought of prospect ahead of his debut. With an undefeated record, a clear ability to finish fights and what will be a large frame in the welterweight division, he could immediately establish himself as a legitimate challenger in the UFC. I'm excited to see him make his debut.
