Light heavyweight Stephan Bonnar has suffered an injury in training and is out of a bout with Karlos Vemola at UFC on Versus this August. Stepping up to replace "The American Psycho" is 11-1 Brazilian and UFC newcomer Ronny Markes.

The UFC announced the change in lineup on Friday night, though there was no mention as to the nature of Bonnar's injury.

Markes, full name Ronny Marki Sales da Silva, enters the UFC on a four fight winning streak, capped off with a dominant three round beating of former WEC Middleweight Champion Paulo Filho in April. The Nova Uniao product has picked up nine of his 11 wins by stoppage, with his sole loss coming by way of submission last October.

Vemola returns to the action for the first time since his first round finish of Seth Petruzelli in November. That was a bounce back win in his light heavyweight debut after losing to Jon Madsen at heavyweight in his UFC debut last July.

UFC on Versus 5 is headlined by a welterweight bout between Dan Hardy and Chris Lytle, and takes place from the Bradley Center in Milwaukee, Wisc. on August 14.

Penick's Analysis: The injury to Bonnar is unfortunate, as he entered 2011 with consecutive wins, looking good in both. But Markes is a good prospect, and off a big win over Filho he'll enter against a very tough opponent in Vemola. Markes is in a great camp, alongside UFC Featherweight Champ Jose Aldo and more, but he could be another in a long line of Brazilian fighters that have built their records in their home country, only to struggle in the big show. But if he can pull off a win against Vemola, he'll make a good statement and win his fifth straight fight in the process.
