Next month's UFC 131 event in Vancouver has been hit by yet another injury, and this time Mac Danzig has been forced out of his fight with Donald "Cowboy" Cerrone.
Word of the injury comes from MMAWeekly.com, who reports that Danzig apparently suffered a torn muscle in training that will take him off the June 11 card.
Cerrone is expected to stay on the card, and UFC officials are reportedly looking for a replacement opponent. The fight will mark Cerrone's second in the UFC after successfully debuting in the organization with a submission win over Paul Kelly at UFC 126 in February. The win was his third straight, and he's now 7-3 with one no contest in eleven fights under the Zuffa banner.
Penick's Analysis: That's another unfortunate injury blow, as this was a good matchup in the division. Still, with the amount of lightweight fighters the organization have under contract, it shouldn't be too difficult to find a replacement opponent with a few weeks still left until the event.
