Vladimir Matyushenko needed just 20 seconds to dispatch of Jason Brilz last month at UFC 129, and now "The Janitor" is looking to get right back into the cage.
According to a report from MMAJunkie.com, Matyushenko has verbally agreed to meet 24-year-old Alexander Gustafsson at UFC 133 in Philadelphia this August.
Matyushenko has won five of his last six fights and has gone 4-1 in the Octagon since returning to the UFC at the fall of 2009. His sole loss in that stretch came against now UFC Light Heavyweight Champion Jon Jones last August.
Gustafsson has gone 3-1 in four fights in the UFC, with his only career loss coming against another top prospect in the division in Phil Davis. All 11 of his career wins have come by stoppage, and he's never reached the third round in any of his fights.
UFC 133 comes to the Wells Fargo Center in Philadelphia, Penn. on August 6, though no headlining bout has yet been set for the event.
Penick's Analysis: This is a really good fight for the light heavyweight division. Matyushenko's continued to prove that even at 40 years old he can hang with most of the guys in this division, and he's going to be another big test for the young up and comer in Gustafsson. Gustafsson is a ton of fun to watch, and he's got a great killer instinct when he sees an opening in a fight. This should make for a really good fight on this card for the fans in Philly.
