Welterweight strikers Martin Kampmann and John "Doomsday" Howard will meet at UFC on Versus 4 this June, the organization announced on Wednesday.
Kampmann headlined the last UFC on Versus event in March, losing a split decision to Diego Sanchez despite damaging the original Ultimate Fighter winner badly throughout the fight. The loss was Kampmann's second straight by split decision, having been bested by Jake Shields in October at UFC 121. Kampmann is 8-4 overall in his UFC career, but just 2-3 over his last five fights.
Howard has also lost two straight in the UFC after winning his first four fights inside the Octagon. Back to back losses to Jake Ellenberger and Thiago Alves have him at risk of being cut from the UFC's roster, but a win over the Kampmann would turn things around for him in a big way.
UFC on Versus 4 takes place from the Consol Energy Center in Pittsburgh, Penn. on June 26. No headlining bout has been set for the card as of yet.
