The UFC has announced yet another bout for July's UFC 132, as lightweights Dennis Siver and Matt Wiman will meet on the card.
Both fighters put on extremely impressive performances in their first fights of 2011, giving each a three fight winning streak into this matchup.
Wiman started off his year at UFC Fight for the Troops 2 in January; in one of his most impressive career performances, Wiman battered Cole Miller through three rounds to earn a unanimous decision victory. The win brought his UFC record to 7-3 in 10 appearances.
Siver earned his third straight win last month, knocking off the highly touted George Sotiropoulos by decision in front of Sotiropoulos' home crowd in Australia. Siver has now won seven of his last eight fights.
UFC 132 is expected to take place from the Mandalay Bay Events Center in Las Vegas on July 2, and will feature a rematch between B.J. Penn and Jon Fitch.
Penick's Analysis: This is another really good lightweight fight for the UFC. There are so many fighter in this division right now, and a lot of guys trying to make their way into the top level, and this fight gives both Wiman and Siver a chance to continue on this path. Wiman looked really good against Miller, and Siver impressed against Sotiropoulos. I like this fight a lot and it should be a lot of fun on this card in Vegas.
