The UFC continues to fill up their June cards, and on Tuesday announced a light heavyweight bout between Kyle Kingsbury and Fabio Maldonado for the Ultimate Fighter 13 Finale event on June 4.
Maldonado made his UFC debut at UFC 120 last October, finishing James McSweeney in the third round. The talented Brazilian has won 11 straight fights, and is 18-3 overall with 15 wins by stoppage.
Kingsbury has put together two very impressive performances in a row, and is riding a three fight win streak overall. After a loss to Tom Lawlor following his time on The Ultimate Fighter 8, Kingsbury has defeated Razak Al-Hassan, Jarred Hamman and Ricardo Romero. The win over Romero took just 21 seconds at February's UFC 126 event.
The Ultimate Fighter 13 Finale airs live on Spike TV from the Pearl at the Palms Casino, headlined by a lightweight bout between Anthony Pettis and Clay Guida.
Penick's Analysis: This is another good preliminary card bout for the Ultimate Fighter 13 Finale. Kingsbury's win over Romero was violent and quick, and he's looked very good over his last three fights. Maldonado is an exciting fighter in his own right, and he's a fight finisher who has only gone to decision once in over three years. That should make for a great matchup.
