The UFC's first ever event in the state of Wisconsin is likely to come on August 14 at Milwaukee's Bradley Center according to a report from MMAFighting.com.
The Sunday event is expected to be a UFC on Versus card, and it will mark the first major MMA event to run in Wisconsin since the state began regulating MMA in February of 2010.
Milwaukee is home to one of the fast rising camps in the sport in Duke Roufus' Roufusport gym. Lightweight sensation Anthony Pettis and UFC heavyweights Pat Barry and Matt Mitrione all hail from the gym and have picked up victories in recent fights.
The Bradley Center is home to the NBA's Milwaukee Bucks, and can seat close to 20,000 fans.
This would mark the third event of the month, as the UFC is expected to run UFC 133 in Philadelphia on August 6 and UFC Rio in Brazil on August 27.
Penick's Analysis: That's exciting news for fans in Wisconsin getting their first MMA event. Fans in Minnesota, Illinois and other surrounding states will also make the close trip for the event as well, and there will likely be a very good crowd in Milwaukee for this event. The UFC is packing August yet again, and it should provide tons of great MMA action throughout the month. It will also be nice to have a free card in between two pay-per-view events.
