Middleweight Nick Ring will finally make his UFC debut at UFC 127 in Australia, according to a report from CagePotato.com, when he takes on fellow UFC newcomer Riki Fukuda.

The undefeated Ring was a favorite to win the eleventh season of The Ultimate Fighter, but a lingering knee issue worsened after his decision win over eventual season 11 champ Court McGee, and Ring had to drop out of the competition. He ended up getting surgery in April to repair the torn ACL, and has been rehabbing from that procedure since then.

Fukuda is a 17-4 professional out of Japan, and he enters the UFC on a seven fight win streak and as the current DEEP Middleweight Champion.

UFC 127 is set to take place from the Acer Arena in Sydney, Australia on Sunday, February 27, airing live on pay-per-view due to the time difference on Saturday, February 26. The card is headlined by a welterweight bout between B.J. Penn and Jon Fitch.

Penick's Analysis: I hope Ring can avoid further damaging that knee, as he's already had numerous procedures on it, but this is good news to see that he'll finally get to make this debut. Considering he already defeated the man that went on to win his season of TUF, he'll get himself right into the mix in the middleweight division. A few wins in undercard bouts will find him getting a shot at bigger names, but Fukuda's no joke either and will be a tough test in his debut fight. This is a very solid middleweight matchup for the preliminary card and the fans in Australia.
