Mike Pierce and Kenny Robertson have verbally agreed to meet at UFC 126 in Las Vegas this February, according to a report from MMAJunkie.com.
Pierce has put together a 3-1 record inside the Octagon, with his sole loss coming against Jon Fitch by decision at UFC 107. He holds wins over Brock Larson, Julio Paulino and most recently Amilcar Alves at UFC 118 in August.
Robertson was supposed to make his UFC debut at UFC 122 in Germany, but an injury forced him out of a bout with Pascal Krauss. His most recent bout saw him submit former UFC and TUF fighter John Kolosci at Bellator 25.
UFC 126 airs live on pay-per-view from the Mandalay Bay Events Center in Las Vegas, headlined by a Middleweight Championship bout between Anderson Silva and Vitor Belfort.
Penick's Analysis: That's a really tough draw for Robertson in his UFC debut. Pierce is absolutely no joke. His win over Brock Larson in his UFC debut was both shocking and extremely impressive. After a tough loss to the second best welterweight in the world in Fitch, he rattled off two more wins, and the submission win over Alves in August was impressive as well. Robertson is an exciting prospect coming in, and hasn't lost a fight yet, so this should make for a very good preliminary card bout.
