The bantamweight division will also debut on The Ultimate Fighter 12 Finale card, as MMAJunkie.com reports that Will Campuzano and Nick Pace are expected to meet on the December 4 event. The bout will come to the night's preliminary card.
Campuzano won a fight outside of the WEC in August after a 1-2 stint under the Zuffa banner. He was submitted by Damacio Page and finished by Eddie Wineland, but rounded out his three fight stint with a win over Coty Wheeler in the "Fight of the Night" at WEC 46.
Pace made an unsuccessful debut in the WEC at WEC 51 in September, losing for the first time in his career. The loss came by decision to Demetrious Johnson. Pace had gone 5-0 to start his career before the loss, with three of those fights coming by first round stoppage.
The Ultimate Fighter 12 Finale takes place from The Pearl at the Palms Casino and Resort, and features a light heavyweight bout between Stephan Bonnar and Igor Pokrajac.
Penick's Analysis: This is a good matchup for the preliminary card, and the merger with the UFC and WEC is immediately bringing a benefit to their upcoming fight cards. In addition to the Leonard Garcia vs. Tyler Toner bout on this card, this bout will help complete the introduction of the lower weight classes to this event.
