The seventh episode of The Ultimate Fighter's 12th season tied a season high rating this Wednesday on Spike TV, bringing in 1.9 million viewers.
The show drew a 1.3 household rating, including a 1.85 rating in the M18-34 demographic. The episode featured the last preliminary fight as well as the announcement of the wildcard competitors, who will fight on next week's episode for the eighth and final spot in the quarterfinals. Team Koscheck's Sako Chivitchian won a decision over Team GSP's Dane Sayers, moving the quarterfinal breakdown to Team GSP: 5-Team Koscheck: 2.
A third Team Koscheck fighter will make the quarterfinals as Aaron Wilkinson and Marc Stevens were tapped as the wildcard fighters.
The show was second in the key demos behind a new episode of South Park on Comedy Central. The episode drew the same number of viewers as episode five, and bounced back from last week's slight dip to 1.7 million viewers.
Penick's Analysis: The season has remained fairly entertaining compared to some past seasons, and the fights have been pretty good for the most part as well. They're clearly keeping pretty much the same audience from week to week, and as long as they're not losing viewers in droves both Spike and the UFC are happy with what they're getting.
