Heading into Saturday's UFC 119 event in Indianapolis, Indiana, questions surrounding Mirko Cro Cop's eye injury abound. But for his part, Cro Cop continues to downplay the injury heading into the fight with Frank Mir.

"My eyes are good," Cro Cop said at the UFC 119 pre-fight press conference on Thursday.

"It was one nice poke in the eye," Cro Cop stated, explaining what happened in the final minute of the final round of his final sparring session. "We did sparring in UFC gloves and unfortunately, I had headgear, but it just went through. Headgear protects face but it wasn't enough for a finger."

UFC President Dana White continued the line that Cro Cop was alright and prepared for the fight as well.

"Mirko's been checked out by doctors in Croatia and the doctors here," he said. "Mirko's eye is good and ready to go. He wouldn't be fighting if he wasn't."

UFC 119 airs live on pay-per-view this Saturday night from the Conseco Fieldhouse.

Penick's Analysis: Cro Cop's eye definitely took some damage, but he passed his exams with the commission and he's done everything he needs to in order to keep his spot on this show. I truly hope it's not going to be something that's a major detriment to him in this fight, because I do hope he brings a competitive performance in the fight.
