"[MMA is] the ultimate sport on earth. To be able to go in there against Brock, who's the champ, is a dream come true... [There's] no added pressure for me... the UFC and the heavyweight division is full of a bunch of tough heavyweights... I know every fight I get into is going to be a tough opponent... [I don't have the Interim belt with me because] when Brock said it was a fake belt it went "poof"... Frankly I'd be happy if it goes longer, then i can stop answering these first round questions."
-UFC Interim Heavyweight Champion Shane Carwin answers various questions during the UFC 116 pre-fight press conference on Thursday. Carwin challenges Brock Lesnar for the "real" Championship on Saturday night.
Penick's Analysis: Carwin looked cool, calm and collected at the press conference. I'm not sure if Nerves will play a factor in his performance at all tomorrow night, but he seems to have himself under control heading in. He stayed quiet, answered the questions presented to him and moved on, but he was kind of lost in the shuffle as most of the questions were directed at Lesnar. Still, he's going to have a chance to make all of the talk be about him on Saturday night in Las Vegas.
