Fedor Emelianenko and Fabricio Werdum face off for Strikeforce this weekend, but with a UFC 116 bout with Shane Carwin on the horizon, this weekend's Strikeforce event is far from on his radar.
"I didn't even know [Fedor] was fighting," Lesnar said during a pre-UFC 116 conference call on Tuesday.
Asked about the recent rumors and discussion that Fedor may retire, both Lesnar and Carwin chimed in with their thoughts.
"I think it's unfortunate that he didn't join the UFC, but I'm not concerned with anything Fedor's doing right now," said Carwin. "I got Brock ahead of me and that's all I'm focused on. The UFC is the NFL of mixed martial arts. The best of the best."
Lesnar took a different route in his response, laughing as he said "Good for Fedor, I hope he does retire.
"He's the greatest champion of all time. Greatest ever of all time in his own little world."
Responding to the question of whether he could beat the Russian, Lesnar's response was simple.
"Absolutely," he said. "I can beat anyone."
Another Strikeforce issue touched upon during the conference call was the rumors of fellow WWE alum Dave Batista making an entrance into MMA, potentially in a fight for Strikeforce. Lesnar made it clear that it was well beneath their fight on July 3.
"Get in line," said Lesnar. "Everybody and their dog wants to get into fighting. Next question. We're talking about a heavyweight championship fight, not some wannabe."
That Championship fight comes to pay-per-view from the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada, on July 3.
Penick's Analysis: Lesnar continues to address questions and comments about Fedor in the same fashion he has since before the fight with Randy Couture. He's not concerned with Fedor or his status in the heavyweight division since Fedor isn't under the UFC banner. Of course, his comments will be taken as continued disrespect to the greatest heavyweight fighter of all time, but when he's preparing to fight on a much larger stage just a week later there's no reason for Fedor and anything he's doing to concern him. This Heavyweight Championship fight could be epic, and if the upset happens on Saturday, the fight will determine the current #1 heavyweight in the world.
