Quinton "Rampage" Jackson appeared on WWE's Monday Night Raw tonight with Bradley Cooper and Sharlto Copley, his co-stars in the A-Team movie coming out this week, but he didn't appear as "Rampage."
Coming off his UFC 114 loss to Rashad Evans, Rampage was in character as B.A. Baracus in a few segments during the show, segments involving a lot of old school faces for pro wrestling fans in I.R.S., "The American Dream" Dusty Rhodes, "Mean" Gene Okerlund and "Rowdy" Roddy Piper.
Rampage got to put some physicality in his appearance, giving Ted Dibiase a spinebuster and making some mean faces at the crowd near the end of the show, but for the most part it was a number of poorly acted segments searching for the person that stole the crown of Jerry "The King" Lawler.
For a full rundown of what went down on Monday Night Raw, check out Torch Supervising Editor Wade Keller's report of the show over at PWTorch.com. And for a piece of Rampage's part in some really bad television, check out the video below (App users video available at MMATorch.com).
Penick's Analysis: This was just some awful, awful television. At least they pointed out that he was in character all night, but none of the segments were entertaining and I'm not sure they accomplished a whole lot in the way of promoting the movie. They were playing their characters, but they probably turned some people off with that. They tried to have some fun with it, clearly, but there wasn't much to be had, and Bradley Cooper was smart to appear on stage for 5 seconds, talk to the crowd and disappear for the rest of the night. Really bad TV.
