While much of the Ultimate Fighter's eleventh season finale has not been set, as the bouts coming will be determined after the final episodes of The Ultimate Fighter this Wednesday, the card has received one confirmed fight, while another that had been rumored for the event has been pushed back to the UFC on Versus card in August.
A bout between John Gunderson and UFC newcomer Mark Holst has been confirmed for the night's preliminary card, while a bout between Darren Elkins and UFC newcomer Charles Oliveira was moved to the August 1 card, according to a report from MMAJunkie.com.
Brazilian Oliveira ran into visa issues, and like Paul Kelly earlier this week those issues would not allow him to enter the country in time to make the fight. His debut will now move to the UFC on Versus 2 card, headlined by the light heavyweight bout between Jon Jones and Vladimir Matyushenko.
Penick's Analysis: Neither of these fights is very likely to make the televised broadcast for either event, as the commercial filled events don't have as much time to fill during their timeslots on Spike and Versus. They're both solid fights, though, and both Holst and Oliveira will try to make an impact in their respective UFC debuts. Wednesday's Ultimate Fighter two hour show will set the stage for the rest of the bouts on the TUF finale, and though only two will make it to the finals we're likely to see a number of the season's contestants on the card on Spike.
