UFC light heavyweight Tito Ortiz has been arrested this afternoon for felony domestic violence at the home he shares with girlfriend Jenna Jameson.
According to a report from TMZ.com, someone called 911 this morning to report a "disturbance" at the home, and when police arrived Jameson had "visible injuries."
The report states Ortiz is in custody and on his way to Huntington Beach jail in Orange County, Cali.
Penick's Analysis: Without knowing the exact circumstances of what happened I don't want to pass any judgment, but domestic violence of any kind is terrible, shameful and completely unacceptable, and this is only going to tarnish Ortiz's already negative image to a large segment of fans. Now I wonder how Dana White and the UFC react to the news and also how Ortiz is portrayed the rest of time he's on this season of the Ultimate Fighter. We already know he won't be fighting Chuck Liddell at the end of the season. This has not been a good start to the year for Ortiz.
