Dana White: "The main event was an embarrassment. I have never seen a more embarrassing main event. That was the first time I walked out of a main event and gave the belt to the manager and told him to put the belt on his champion.
"Frankie Edgar fought a great fight tonight. Frankie pulled it out tonight, it was awesome. A lot of great fights tonight so I am just unhappy with strictly the main event. I will make this up to the fans, I will, I do not know how, but I will. I have been the main supporter of Anderson so I am disappointed. He danced and ran around it was just terrible. I think Anderson is incredibly talented and is amazing, but he needs to finish fights. I am very upset with tonight, but like I said it is just the Anderson fight."
DaMarques Johnson: Defeated Brad Blackburn by KO and won Knockout of the Night Honors. “I would take an *** whooping for 15 minutes if it meant I had a one minute chance to win the fight.” - “I was willing to take a whooping to win” - "I know I can do better and I am my worst critic.”
Mark Munoz: TKO’d Kendall Grove and won Fight of Night Honors. “I was hurt a little bit and its about heart. I give everything to Kendall, he was an awesome opponent.”
"I thought it was an amazing fight and Kendall was an amazing opponent, I give all the props to Kendall for taking the fight and making it happen. I am happy to put on a good performance, and whatever the UFC gives me I will take. I just want to get better with every fight.
Rafael Dos Anjos: Defeated Terry Etim by armbar and won Submission of Night Honors. “I have been practicing a lot for all different kinds of positions, it paid off.” - “Tonight was the first time I was able to finish my opponent at the UFC and I am excited.”
Phil Davis: Choked out Alexander Gustafsson in the first round. “If it goes wrong in the octagon it’s on me, if it goes right it’s my coaches, if it does not go right, then it is because I am not following my game plan.” He thanked his coaches. "I am not good with the math but this puts me in the division with two big wins."
Matt Hughes: Defeated Renzo Gracie. “I put my opponent in his worst position; I felt that Renzo's worst position was on his feet.”
“I felt really comfortable with him standing; that is what we worked on in my training camp.” - "I could hear my corner men talking to me and telling me to kick and when to throw.” - "I could hear each individual from my corner and it really helped a lot." - “Gracie was really fighting an uphill battle.”
Frankie Edgar: Defeated B.J. Penn: “I know B.J. was supposed to win, but I pulled it off.”
"It was the hardest fight of my life. I felt I was crisper with punches and my takedowns. My family and coaches have been with me the whole time. It is not just my belt; it is not just mine it is for all my family and coaches. Movement was the factor in the fight." - “I typically get stronger as the fight go on. It was my first five round fight, but it worked in my advantage.”
B.J. Penn: Lost the UFC Lightweight Championship to Frankie Edgar. "If you want to know anything else go to BJPENN.com…"
Demian Maia: Lost to Anderson Silva: “I am happy, but it just took me longer to get comfortable with Anderson, he was running around.” - "He landed many punches, he was very disrespectful, and Anderson said he was sorry but I think that what he did was not necessary. Anderson was swearing at me in the fight, it was a war and I would do it again." - “I want to say I am sorry it took time for me to get in the fight, but I have never fought anyone like Anderson before.”
Anderson Silva: Defeated Demien Maia. “I am very happy, thank you UFC for the opportunity.” (I am not happy with the fight.) "I need more time for training."
"This is a sport; not a fight, just a sport.” - "Demian did not respect me in the fight." - “I came here well prepared and Maia disrespected me. I came here to hurt him and punish him and that is what I did.” - "I am not too sure what school Demian came from but I think that he disrespected me morally." - “I am sending a message to all fighters that if you disrespect me before that fight I will destroy you.” - "My goal was to finish the fight, but I also wanted to make my opponent very vulnerable to everything that I did and have him guessing. We showed respect to each other and I enjoyed it." - "I have 3 fights left on my contract, as long as I like to compete and can do so, I will be at the UFC.”
