"I'm actually far from cleaning out my division. There may be guys that are even better than me coming into the UFC, and proof that there are tough guys in the division is Demian Maia. We're going to have a great fight. It's a big challenge for me... I love being the champion. It's what makes me happy and it's what motivates me to get the training and get back in the octagon. My goal is to put on as many great fights in the UFC as I can throughout the three divisions; middleweight, light heavyweight, and possibly heavyweight. ... I feel that everybody in the camp, their goal is to have me retire with as many victories in the UFC as possible and having make history inside the octagon.
-UFC Middleweight Champion Anderson Silva talks to MMAJunkie.com about wanting to make history in the UFC through three weight classes.
Penick's Analysis: Well this shows that Silva is sticking around the fight game for the foreseeable future. He is already one of the greatest Champions the UFC has ever had, and if he wants to make a run toward the Light Heavyweight Title it's something he'll likely be successful at. Of course, that will take Lyoto Machida not being the Champion for him to make that run. He's ambitious for wanting to take some fights at heavyweight as well, considering he started his career as a welterweight. Hopefully we'll get to see many more big named fights out of Silva over the remainder of his career.
